PORT 1560 invites you to a unique lecture and guided tour dedicated to the history and architecture of the New Town (Novoměstská) Garden in the heart of Český Krumlov. This exceptional site will be explored with expert guidance from Ing. Jiří Olšan.
New Town Garden, also known as Pivovarská Garden, is a former Renaissance garden of the Rosenberg family, located in close proximity to the widow’s residence of Anna of Rožmberk. Established in the 16th century, its story is inseparably linked with the history of the town. We will walk through the preserved sections of the garden while also discussing the lost elements that once contributed to its original beauty.
The seminar will take us through the architectural and horticultural history of this significant landmark, shedding light on the fate of individual structural elements such as the gardener’s house, the original entrance gate, the remnants of a fig house, and a neoclassical pavilion. Together, we will uncover the hidden stories of this remarkable place and learn more about its historical significance.
Don't miss this rare opportunity to explore a site usually closed to the public, guided by an expert. Tickets available ONLINE.
